To maximize your credit card reward program earnings, you’ll want to put absolutely everything on your credit card – groceries, gas, household supplies, clothing, restaurants and gifts.

Pay as many utility bills as you can too with your credit card to squeeze out even more. If you do this, your credit card reward program will return the favor handsomely for your loyalty.

This strategy requires financial discipline though, since you’ll still want to pay off your credit card bill in full to avoid the finance charges.  It’s not prudent to put everything on a credit card and then carry a balance.  If so, all the credit card reward program effectively accomplishes is knocking a little off the interest rate.
